Annual General Meeting
Current members of Karori Sanctuary Trust (Zealandia) are invited to our AGM.

Our Chairman, Phillip Meyer, is keen to share some of the highlights and challenges over the last year and celebrate another big step in our restoration journey with the project to remove perch from the lower reservoir. Dr Danielle Shanahan (Director Zealandia Centre for People and Nature) will discuss the complexity of this project and how working with partners, iwi and donors on this project created the opportunity for a far richer project.

Timeline

17 August – Notice of AGM and call for Guardian nominations

15 September – Guardian nominations due

30 September – Annual report including financial statements, proxy form and details of nominees included in member e-news

28 October – AGM and Guardian election

Member-elected Guardian

At every AGM a member-elected Guardian is voted on.

Guardians need to have an active interest in the long-term future of the Trust, and be available for the regular quarterly meetings of the Guardians. A good understanding of the Board’s role and an ability to work in a collegial and constructive way are highly desirable. Guardians are not required to bring a specific technical or professional skill. However, knowledge and experience in areas relevant to the Trust’s mission are welcomed. These areas include education, conservation science and research, conservation and biodiversity management, and visitor experience. Member appointed Guardians desirably bring an active interest in community support and participation. They may also bring connections relevant to the Trust’s growing partnerships with New Zealand and global conservation organisations.

We are now calling for nominations to fill this vacancy on the Guardians for a term of three years. Nominations must be submitted by 15 September. Read more about the role of Guardians, person specifications and how to nominate someone.
