Faces of Zealandia

Throughout March, ZEALANDIA is hosting an exhibition by photographer Chris Helliwell, in the gallery by the Rātā Cafe stairwell.

Faces of Zealandia is the first in a series of New Zealand nature portraits by award winning photographer Chris Helliwell. Chris has been photographing New Zealand’s amazing and beautiful wildlife for over six years and has spent many hours studying and photographing his subjects.

Chris’s aim is to photograph as much of New Zealand’s wildlife as possible and then to create a stunning limited-edition portrait of each. Faces of Zealandia is a series of 9 portraits featuring some of the amazing birds that can be seen within ZEALANDIA. Each portrait is limited to ONLY 5 prints. No further print runs will be produced at any size in the future.

Chris has also released a very special image of the first Takahē chick to be successfully raised at ZEALANDIA. Nio and Orbell's chick hatched on 14th November 2018 and Chris photographed it when it was 49 days old. This print is in an edition of 1 and will never be printed again. It features the chick and its father Orbell.

Faces of Zealandia will be on display and for sale at ZEALANDIA from 2nd to 31st March. The first of each edition is available framed and the subsequent editions are unframed prints. The prints are on GALERIE Prestige Smooth Pearl paper and come with a Edges Art + Framing discount voucher.
