Hannah Shand exhibition

Through July and August, the ZEALANDIA Gallery will host an exhibition of illustrations by artist Hannah Shand. 

On Saturday 25 August, see how Hannah makes her intricate artwork - Hannah will be live-drawing from 10:30am - 3:00pm, on Level 1 of the ZEALANDIA Visitor Centre.

About Hannah

Hannah Shand is an artist from the Kāpiti Coast who specialises in detailed animal sketches, particularly New Zealand birds. She creates her realistic drawings using fine tip black ink pens. Skillfully applying different pressures, she carefully renders fine details of the animals’s feathers, fur, skin or scales.

Hannah’s inspiration is drawn from the abundance of bird watching spots, bush walks and incredible scenery near her home studio. Using her art to showcase the beauty and elegance of New Zealand wildlife, she hopes to inspire others to care for our animals. She works with local conservation groups to raise money by selling her art, and promoting the work they’re doing.
