RĀNGAI RANGATAHI | YOUTH COLLECTIVE

Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne's Rāngai Rangatahi is a diverse group of young people aged 14-18 who are conscientious citizens, passionate about the environment and impacting positive change.

The programme will consist of expert facilitated workshops about conservation, rongoā, activism, climate change and more. Rāngai Rangatahi will offer participants a unique opportunity to see behind the scenes at Zealandia. Participants will then work together to lead their own project.

Our values are compassion, acceptance, trust, manaakitanga, inclusiveness, respect, community, rangimarie, kaitiakitanga and hard work.

We come together to:

  • - learn about and experience te taiao and conservation projects in Aotearoa
  • -create a safe space for young people to meet like-minded peers
  • -create change through social and environmental actions.

START-UP PROJECT 2020

The Rāngai Rangatahi formed in October 2020 with a ‘start-up’ project.

Over four days members of the Rāngai/Collective created a visual identity, wrote the kaupapa/purpose, which you see above, and took part in a range of behind-the-scenes experiences, including sampling eDNA from Roto Kawau, learning about tuatara with the conservation team and creating colour responses to taiao/nature with a designer.
