ZEALANDIA's Rāngai Rangatahi / Youth Collective a diverse group of young people aged 15-18 who are passionate about the environment with a goal to make change.

The Rāngai/Collective's values are compassion, acceptance, trust, manaakitanga, inclusiveness, respect, community, rangimarie, kaitiakitanga, hard work.

We come together to
- create opportunities for others to get a personal experience, while instilling our values in others.
- create change through social and environmental actions.

The 2021 Rāngai/Collective was selected in February. The group is a mix of 12 young people from across the Wellington region, some who took part in our 2020 start-up project and some getting involved for the first time.

They are working together to shape the programme for the year and to create opportunities to share their experiences with other young people. Check back for updates about what they’re up to and how you can get involved.

The Rāngai Rangatahi formed in October 2020 with a ‘start-up’ project.

Over four days members of the Rāngai/Collective created a visual identity, wrote the Collective kaupapa/purpose, which you see above, and they took part in a range of behind-the-scenes experiences, including sampling eDNA from Kawau lake, learning about tuatara with the Conservation team and creating colour responses to taiao/nature with a Designer.
