Café with a conscience

Being environmentally-sustainable and socially responsible is a no brainer for us. We only use free-range pork, chicken and eggs. Our fruit and veggies are seasonal and locally-sourced wherever possible. Our milk is organic and all our coffee is organic and fair trade. All our packaging is biodegradable and even our cleaning products are friendly to the environment!

Rata Café is an important source of income for the Karori Sanctuary Trust, which manages Zealandia. All proceeds directly benefit the Trust and help to make its 500 year restoration vision a reality.
