Available dates

For most of the year Zealandia by Night tours run every evening. Booking essential.
During the May-September season, tours run only on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday.

Zealandia by Night tours run on:
Peak season 1 Oct – 30 Apr	Mon	Tue	Wed	Thu	Fri	Sat	Sun
Off-peak season* 1 May – 30 Sep			Wed		Fri	Sat	Sun

*It may still be possible to book a tour during off-peak months on a a non-tour day of the week (Monday, Tuesday or Thursday); please be aware that we require a minimum of five paying guests and for the booking to be finalised by midday on the day before the tour date. All prices displayed are in New Zealand dollars and include GST, fees and charges, unless otherwise stated. If you are using a non-New Zealand credit card then you will be billed by your credit card provider at the international exchange rate at the time of processing.

Important information

• Booking essential.
• Minimum age: 12 years.
• Group size: 12 maximum, no minimum.
• Length: Approximately 2.5 hours.
• Departs: Daily 30 minutes before sunset. Download tour start times (pdf) or phone (04) 920 9200.
• Transport: $15.50 per person return from the city centre. Available Mon (Oct-Apr), Wed, Fri, Sat (and Sunday May-Sep) only. Must be pre-booked, phone (04) 920 9213. On other nights please arrange your transport independently. We recommend the following taxi companies.

  It costs approximately $18-$25 per taxi (up to 4 people) from any Wellington CBD location to Zealandia; and the same on the return journey.

• Tours go rain or shine so please dress to the weather conditions. Wear sturdy footwear, bring extra layers of clothing and a waterproof jacket. Torches are supplied.

Terms & conditions

The Karori Sanctuary Trust, who manage Zealandia, reserve the right to refuse visitors not meeting these instructions, terms and conditions.

Instructions

• THIS IS AN OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE, PLEASE ENSURE YOU ARE SUITABLY ATTIRED FOR THE CONDITIONS.
• Please ensure you arrive 10-15 minutes before the start time of your tour. Once the tour has left the Visitor Centre you will be unable to join the group. Torches are provided.
  All Zealandia tours go rain or shine, so please dress to the conditions.
• Wear sturdy footwear and come with plenty of layers and a waterproof jacket.
• Walking tracks are an easy grade, but for safety reasons visitors must follow the instruction of their guide at all times.
• The minimum age for Zealandia by Night tours is 12 years (evidence of age may be requested).
• Smoking is not permitted at any time within Zealandia .
• If you have booked return transport the pickup will be 30 minutes sharp before the scheduled start time of the tour from outside 101 Wakefield street (near the Wellington I-site), directly opposite the West Plaza Hotel. Look for the shuttle van with our Zealandia logo.

Payments

• Your credit card is required for payment and confirmation of your tour.
• Deductions will be made from your credit card upon receipt of booking.
• Credit card details are transmitted over a secure link.

Cancellations

• Cancellations more than 14 days out: full refund.
• Cancellations 13-7 days notice: 50% refund.
• Cancellations 6-0 days notice: no refund.
• Tours proceed rain or shine, although the Karori Sanctuary Trust, which manages Zealandia, reserves the right to cancel due to unsafe weather conditions, in which case a full refund will be given.

Booking  changes

• Booking changes more than 5 days out: no penalty.
• Booking changes 5-1 days notice: 25% penalty.
• Booking changes 24 hours or less: 50% penalty.
• Tours proceed rain or shine, although the Karori Sanctuary Trust, which manages Zealandia, reserves the right to cancel due to unsafe weather conditions, in which case a full refund will be given.
